The name of this project was the pepper pastel shading project. Our goal was to recreate two peppers of different shades and do our best to capture how the lighting effects the shadows on the peppers. Value was the most important skill in this project, as it was used to create the shadows and the different shades of the peppers. The background also demonstrates value as it goes from dark to light starting at the top. The shape of the peppers was a key element in making the project look good. Value was the most important art element as it created shadows. Texture was also shown in the shadows and the shading of the peppers. The value helped create contrast between the two peppers as it showed that the peppers were obviously different colors. I also put emphasis on not making distinct lines around the peppers by using shape. The dark values on the pepper on the right create a depressing mood, but the pepper on the left helps balance it out by creating a blissful mood.

The name of this art project was the landscape drawing. For this drawing, I chose to draw a landscape in pencil of some rocks in the distance sticking out of the ocean. One new thing I learned how to do was how to draw straight lines with different values to represent water in the distance and how the waves get bigger as they get closer. The main art elements used were value with the ocean waves, shape to make sure the rocks were accurate, and I also emphasized using bigger lines instead of short, choppy lines. These art elements helped create pattern in the waves and balance between the rocks. The mood of this drawing is peaceful because the waves put you at a place of peace and the shapes of the rocks are relaxing to look at.
The name of this project was the leaf drawing. Our task for this assignment was to take a picture of a leaf up close then recreate the picture that we took using a pencil and paper. One skill that i emphasized in this drawing was shape and making sure I got as close as I could to the exact shape for each leaf. The main art elements used in this drawing were line, value, shape, and texture. Value was especially emphasized when overlapping the leaves, to better show that one leaf was on top of the other. These art elements helped create the design elements balance and contrast, with the overlapping helping the contrast come out and the leaves balance each other out. The way that the leaves come out from the center bud really show how the mood in this drawing is peaceful.
The name of this project is swirling squares. The goal of this project was to draw and overlap shapes while drawing lines connecting the corners of the shapes to create a cool design. One new skill i used in this project wad value when i pressed harder or lighter with the pencil to create depth in the drawing. The main art elements that we used were lines, value, shape, form and space. Lines helped create pattern along with shape, form and value helped create balance in the project. In this project, i learned how value really helps create depth and it enhances the shapes in the project. The overall mood in my drawing is soothing and calming. What this says about me is that i am a creative person, and i showed that in this project.
